Meditation for the Modern World
Hello all it's me again, I wanted to talk about a common issue called anxiety. I have been suffering from this as of late and have found some interesting natural methods that can help. Many people have suggested therapy for this issue but like most common folks I cannot afford it. Yoga does help but finding the time everyday can be a challenge. At times my anxiety has gotten the best of me. I suffer panic attacks that unlike normal hyperventilating I get nauseous, dizzy, break into a sweat, and have heart palpitations. Fun stuff huh?! We all have things that stress us out in our daily lives and sometimes it builds up and causes worse problems.
So I looked into different methods and found that meditation has helped me acknowledge and work through my anxiety. So I was browsing on YouTube and Google to try and find some good meditation practices but settled on something more convenient. I found a highly rated app called Calm(try it!). They have a variety of practices some short as 5 minutes some longer if desired. The Unlimited fee was $59.99 for the year. The logic on spending the money was this is way cheaper than one therapy session and it couldn't hurt to try.I choose to do the 7 days of anxiety first which was a unique perspective of how to cope with it. The practices take about 12 minutes which is easy enough to take time everyday. I also have been doing meditation for sleep at night which helps you clear your mind for sleep. Calm also has programs specifically for stress, focus, emotions, self care, etc.I know I sound like a spokesperson for this app but I'm very impressed on how this program has helped me get into mindful meditation. My anxiety has dissipated gradually while using this. I highly recommend this if you have a lot of stress or have trouble focussing.
